Ashfield Music Festival is an activity designed to develop skills in work-related learning and inspire more students to study physics post-16. - Grants for schools and colleges
The Science and Technology Facilities Council, the Institute of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Physics run a small grants scheme designed specifically for schools and colleges.The aim of the scheme is to provide schools with grants of up to £600 for projects or events linked to the teaching or promotion of physics or engineering. - I'm a scientist, get me out of here!
I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here! is the UK’s largest online science engagement event where students get to meet and interact with real scientists. It’s an X Factor-style competition between the scientists, where students are the judges. - Toolkit for Organising Routes through Education events in Schools

Physics in Perspective is a three-day enrichment course run by the IOP for sixth formers and college students. - SciCast Physics
SciCast Physics was a mini-science-movie-making competition. Teams of all ages were challenged to produce films of less than two and a half minutes that explained a principle of physics in an entertaining way to non-scientists.While the competition is no longer running, all the films submitted are available to view on the website, making up a valuable classroom resource.
The site also contains information on film making techniques, advice on what equipment to invest in and a clear explanation of licensing issues – vital if you’re thinking of producing anything using words, music or images that are not your own.
- Physics Activity Pack for STEM clubs
The Institute produces an activity pack containing physics-based ideas, resources and activities for science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) clubs. - Thinking on your feet: Football and physics
This new resource from the education team has been developed in collaboration with Arsenal Football Club and explores 8 physics activities linked to the beautiful game.
